SleepHaven offers a variety of cleaning services in the Daventry, Northampton and Towcester area but specialises in professional carpet and upholstery cleaning. As a local family-run business, we sponsor, support and play sport in the local community, I do more of the supporting and sponsoring these days but let my young apprentice and son do most of the playing! However, I can’t complain as it allows me to socialise, have a crafty pint and watch my son play Cricket or Rugby for Nether Heyford Cricket Club or Towcester Rugby Club.
Pre Season Training Starts at Towcester Rugby Club
As part of the colts, James and his teammates were invited to Pre-season training with the seniors recently as they prepare for the forthcoming Rugby season. There was a great turnout with 2 Physio’s on stand-by to help any of the players with any pre-season stiffness or strains plus take the warm-up in readiness for the fitness training. As I sat in the sunshine and enjoyed a pint from the bar I looked across the field to watch my son warm up with the team when I spotted a familiar uniform! I saw the familiar combat trousers, white vest with red trim and insignia of a British Army PTI………..this is going to be interesting I thought!!!
The PTI took them through a strenuous fitness workout which included an obstacle course, carrying heavy tyres and a player in a sheet simulating casualty evacuation in their respective teams. Not only does this improve fitness but builds communication and team bonding, I looked back fondly on my RAF days when I was in training…….took another sip of my pint, smiled and watched my son get beasted with the rest of the lads!!!
Nether Heyford Cricket Club
SleepHaven are proud to be one of the Sponsors of Nether Heyford Cricket Club and both James and I play regularly on a Saturday afternoon. The Club have 3 senior teams, a Junior team that plays on Sundays plus a healthy All-Stars mini squad which train and play on Friday evenings. A friendly village club with a good social element plus a good standard of cricket we’re always looking to welcome new players to join us. James and I love our cricket and play for the 2’s or 3’s depending on selection and if my body allows, James also made his debut playing his first T20 game for the club recently.
