For those customers who follow SleepHaven on social media, you will be aware that I’m involved with Weedon Football Club (The Dons) and now known as the “Gaffer” of the men’s team. I used to watch the Dons as Taylor, Liam and James all played for them and got roped in as the Gaffer as I shouted encouragement at the boys from the sidelines. As the Gaffer I’m keen for the team to raise its profile, support the community and raise funds for the football club. Therefore, I’m proud that SleepHaven supports the “Dons in the Community” Initiative. Volunteers from the club will carry out work within the village such as removing graffiti, litter picking etc in return for donations which will go towards supporting the football club. The men’s team, seen below will carry out the first project.
Graffiti Removal
Weedon is a beautiful village but unfortunately suffered a recent spate of Graffiti, especially at the Railway Arch Bridge near the football ground. Having been in the cleaning industry for 15 years it seemed an ideal opportunity for this to become the first project for the Dons in the Community Initiative. Taylor and I visited the bridge to work out the logistics, we also needed to ascertain if the paint used was water or oil-based, therefore we did a test patch which came up well.
Promotion & Donations – How You Can Help
A team of volunteers from the Dons will remove the Graffiti, we ask in return for donations to Weedon FC. All funds will be used to refurbish the goals and purchase new equipment to support our teams across all age groups, it’s a WIN WIN for the community!
