General Cleaning Tips & Hacks
Keeping carpets clean can extend their life and maintain a fresh and welcoming home environment. Here are some effective tips and hacks for carpet cleaning:
- Regular Vacuuming: Vacuum your carpets at least once a week to prevent dirt and debris from settling deep into the fibers. High-traffic areas might need more frequent vacuuming.
- Use Doormats: Place doormats at entry points to reduce the amount of dirt brought into the house. Encourage family members and guests to wipe their feet.
- Immediate Spill Cleanup: Blot spills immediately with a clean cloth or paper towel to prevent stains. Avoid rubbing, which can push and spread the stain deeper into the fibers.
- Deep Cleaning: Schedule professional carpet cleaning every 12, make sure the company you use is a reputable company and are fully trained and qualified.
- Wear Slippers: Pet hair & sock fibre can transfer into the fibres of your carpets which over time will change the colour of your carpets
How to Remove Pet Hair
Pet Hair and Sock Fibres can get intertwined with the fibres of your carpet changing its colour over a period of time, especially if it’s a light-coloured carpet. This is most noticeable on high traffic lane areas around the bed or in front of the wardrobe mirror. Hoovering alone won’t remove the pet hair or sock fibres from your carpets or upholstery, therefore we use and recommend a couple of brushes to our customers which can be found on our online SHOP.
Spot & Stain Removal
When dealing with a stain, treat it as soon as possible as you will have more chance of removing the stain, here are some simple rules:
- DON’T PANIC! – Please don’t go under the kitchen sink and start applying a variety of solutions, they may have a chemical reaction and change the colour of your carpet!
- Scrape or pick up any residue such as beans away from the stain.
- Blot & Dab with kitchen towel to soak up the stain, use a little water if required.
- Start from the outside of the stain and work inwards.
- NEVER Rub or Scrub as you may damage the carpet.
