It’s that time of year again as we prepare for Winter, the leaves are falling and moss starts to build up on our roofs and gutters. But when was the last time you had your roof and gutters cleaned?? Well, we’ve been busy with moss removal from roofs and gutters for some of our letting agent clients plus some of our regular domestic customers who we provide an annual gutter clean to help maintain their property.
Why is Roof & Gutter Cleaning Important?
Having your gutters cleaned may not be your highest priority but regular maintenance is important. Gutters collect and guide rainwater off the roof, through downpipes into the drainage system keeping it away from the brickwork and the building preventing damage to the brickwork and damp issues. Blocked or damaged gutters can cause water to overflow resulting in potential damage or expensive repairs if not dealt with at the earliest opportunity. A Challenging Gutter Clean
Some roofs and gutters can be cleaned from the safety of the ground using telescopic poles with our SkyScaper or our Skyvac system. But some properties have their own individual challenges that’s why we like to do an onsite survey and quotation where possible.
We recently had to carry out a gutter and partial roof clean in Weedon but due to the proximity of neighbouring properties, the gutters were difficult to access, even with the Skyvac. Therefore we used a tower so we could gain full access to the gutters and to ensure our staff could work safely.
We also carried out some gutter cleaning in Daventry to a property which hadn’t been cleared in years, again this was a challenge as it was a two tier roof. The gutters and down pipe were completely blocked with large clumps of earth. Take a look at the below video to see how we did and the subsequent testimonial from the customer.
