We were recently contacted by a long term client who had a large rug he wanted cleaning, it had been stored for several years and was heavily soiled in places and he was considering in throwing the rug.
We visited our client to inspect the rug and were quite surprised at its size, however on inspection we thought it could be cleaned and took it away with us. As we do on some of rug cleaning days we cleaned it outside on the drive, luckily the weather was extremely kind to us for this time of year!
Rugs are a lot more intensive to clean, we vacuum rugs numerous times on both sides, in some cases we beat them to ensure as much dust and dirt is removed prior to cleaning. We use a special pre spray to break down the soil and used a fabric rinse which would ensure none of the colours would run, you have to be particularly careful with rugs as they have numerous colours and are susceptible to “bleeding”. Once agitated the rugs are then cleaned using a hand tool to ensure we extract as much dirt as possible, we then ensure the rugs are thoroughly dried using a blower.
The customer was delighted with the results as he had resigned himself in disposing of the rug, he said ” Thank you so much it looks wonderful, I really appreciate your prompt response in returning the rug the very next day!”
